Special Hunting Equipment

Whenever you encounter monsters that are larger than normal, you can use special hunting equipment to help you take them down.

Ballista

A giant, stationary bowgun. It is very powerful and can fire over long distances, but it requires Ballista ammo. It also has special ammo such as the One-shot Binder, which can temporarily restrain monsters.

Using A Ballista

Finding and Load Ammo

Press Aボタン in front of the Ballista to use it. Ballista ammo can be found in the Supply Box or by gathering.

Aim and Fire!

Use スライドパッド to aim, and press Aボタン to fire. You can press Rボタン to toggle between aiming styles. You can't evade attacks while manning a Ballista, so if you sense an incoming attack, press Bボタン to unman the Ballista so you can move freely.

The Dragonator

A gigantic mechanical lance designed to pierce through monsters. While its range is short, its power is unquestionable.

The Dragonator Switch

When you approach the Dragonator Switch, an icon will appear above your hunter's head. Once you have your target in your sights, press Aボタン at just the right time to skewer it. Once you use the Dragonator, it will take a while before you can use it again, so make it count!

The Fence Switch

Utilizing the switch on either side of the Arena will cause a fence to pop up in the middle of the Arena and split it in half. This comes in very handy when dealing with multiple monsters at the same time.

The Fence Switch

An icon will appear overhead when you approach the switch. Press Aボタン when this happens to use the switch to bring up the fence. This will help when fighting multiple monsters at the same time.
After a period of time, the fence will retract into the ground. Once you use the Fence Switch, there is a cool down period before you can use it again, so use it wisely.
