Weapons and Armor

Weapons

There are close-range and long-range weapons, weapons for Blademasters only and weapons for Gunners only. The type of armor you can equip depends on the weapon you are using.

Attack Types

There are three attack types: Cutting, Blunt and Ammo. Monsters' resistance and vulnerability to these types will vary by body part. You can do more damage if you attack a part that is more vulnerable to your weapon's type of attack.

Cutting

Can be used to cut the tails off certain monsters. Attacks such as sword slashes and lance thrusts fall into this category.

Blunt

Robs monsters of their stamina and can stun them if you hit them on the head. Shield attacks and hammer attacks are two examples of blunt attacks.

Ammo

Projectiles such as arrows and Bowgun ammo fall into this attack type. There are also certain kinds of ammo that have multiple different properties.

I've heard there are certain melee weapons that can recover their sharpness when you evade with it drawn.

You might even find a Bow that can boost the power of close-range coatings!

Armor

Armor is divided up into five parts: Head, Chest, Arms, Waist, and Legs. Equipping a complete armor set consisting of all of the parts of its series often activates certain skills. Some armor only has one piece and does not belong to any specific series of armor.

Acquiring Armor

Forge at The Smithy

Provided you have the money and necessary materials, you can forge equipment at the Smithy that is normally not available at the Armory.

Upgrade at The Smithy

Weapons

In addition to forging, you can also upgrade weapons. The characteristics of a weapon will change depending on how you choose to upgrade it. If you have the funds and use the right materials, you can even upgrade a weapon into a completely different one.

Armor

With money and rare ores called Armor Spheres, you can upgrade armor pieces to raise their Defense. There are different degrees of upgrading, which vary depending on the piece of armor.

When you don't have the materials to forge new armor, try upgrading with Armor Spheres.

Upgrading with Armor Spheres won't affect the armor's appearance, so use them on your favorite armor pieces!
