Sunsnug Isle

Sunsnug Isle can be accessed once you have progressed enough through the single player story, and has facilities that you and your Palicoes can use.

Meownster Hunters

Send out Palicoes on a quest and they will return with Scraps that can be used to forge Palico equipment. Meownster Hunters is unlocked once you have progressed enough through the single player story.

How to Use Meownster Hunters

You can send your Palicoes on Meownster Hunter quests by talking to the Chamberlyne in your house or by going to Sunsnug Isle.

1. Select a Route

Select a route and quest to send your Meownster Hunters on.

Depending on the route, the locale and type of monsters will be different. In addition, you can choose to dispatch your Meownster Hunters a certain distance (close, medium, far). However, if they don't have enough Provisions, they will not be able to travel far. Quests with a star (★) mark on them will yield more Scraps than normal quests.

2. Select Your Palicoes

Select which Palicoes will join the Meownster Hunters. You can choose from your list of Reserve Palicoes.

Picking Palicoes that have effective skills will make your chances of successfully completing a quest higher. Skills counter each other, so remember that yellow beats red, red beats blue, and blue beats yellow. Palicoes also have different skills within those colors, so make sure to pick Palicoes based not only on their skills, but their level too. Palicoes with high Enthusiasm also have a higher chance of using their skills.

3. Meownster Hunter Controls

Once the Meownster Hunters have departed on a quest, the mini-game will start. You can continue watching your Palicoes' progress during the quest, or press STARTボタン to entrust the quest to them.

A battle will begin once your Palicoes encounter a monster. Choose one skill out of the group that appears on the screen to attack the monster. Make sure to use a skill that's effective against that monster (you can use the Touch screen or the corresponding button to choose a skill).

If several Palicoes have the same skill, the selected skill will be powered up.

4. Returning to Sunsnug Isle

If you play through the entire Meownster Hunter mini-game, you'll receive your rewards immediately after it's finished. If you entrusted the quest to your Palicoes, you can pick up your reward from the Chamberlyne at your house or on Sunsnug Isle after you have departed on one quest. Note that you cannot initiate the Meownster Hunter mini-game by talking to the Chamberlyne.

To send out your Palicoes again, your hunter will need to depart on one quest in order to recharge your Palicoes's Provisions.

Casting Machine

How to Use the Casting Machine

Use the Casting Machine to fire a casting net and catch fish. Your Palicoes are required to use this machine. If you spend some Caravan Points to use bait, you can increase the amount of rewards you can get.

1. Cast Net/Use Bait and Cast

Spend Caravan Points to use bait before casting your net. The amount of fish you'll receive increases whenever you use bait, but you can still fish without it.

2. Select Your Palicoes

You can have up to five Palicoes helping you with the Casting Machine. You can choose between 1st Stringers and Reserve Palicoes.

The more Palicoes helping you out, the more fish you get. Palicoes also have special skills related to the Casting Machine. These skills activate more often if their Enthusiasm is high, but if they are asked to use their skills, their Enthusiasm drops.

3. Cast the Net

Use スライドパッド to aim the Casting Machine, and then press Aボタン to fire the net. Firing into multiple groups of fish will increase your rewards.

The nets used for the Casting Machine are prepped while you're on a quest, and you can have up to three nets ready for you at one time.

Meownster Hunters and the Casting Machine are set up while you're out on quests, so make regular trips to Sunsnug Isle!
