You can see what extracts your Kinsect has harvested from the gauge displayed on the screen.
The right insect mark indicates the extract your Kinsect has just harvested, while the three gauges on the left indicate what extracts your Kinsect has already given you. Below is the Kinsect's Stamina Gauge. When the Kinsect has run out of Stamina it won't respond to commands and will slowly return to the hunter's arm.

Extract Effects
The type of extract a Kinsect harvests differs depending on the monster body part it targets.
*Green extract isn't stored in the gauge, but automatically heals you upon contact.

Red
Improves attack capabilities.
White
Improves movement speed and jump height.
Orange
Negates Knockback when attacking.
Red + White
Increases Attack.
White + Orange
Increases Defense. When you take damage your recovery will also be faster.

Increases Attack and Defense, and reduces your recovery after taking damage.
Green
Recovers Health.

In Adept Style, your Kinsect uses up all of its Stamina when it leaves your arm! However, it quickly recovers once it returns to you. Make sure to aim carefully when sending your Kinsect out to harvest extracts.
