Gunlance
Heat Gauge
The Gunlance's heat status is displayed via the Heat Gauge.
The ticker inside the bar indicates the current heat level of the weapon, and firing shells will increase the heat and move the ticker to the right. Using thrusting attacks or letting it cool down will move the ticker to the left. Overfilling the bar or using Wyvern's Fire will overheat the Gunlance, locking the ticker for a period of time.

Shell Types
Shells come in three different types, and are different depending on the weapon.
Normal
A shell type that allows for a larger stock of phials and is capable of damaging attacks when using Burst Fire.
Long
A shell type that does huge damage with Wyvern's Fire and has a wide front attack range.
Wide
A shell type with a wide attack range and deals huge damage with the Charged Shot.

With your weapon sheathed, press Bボタン to perform a Forward Jump, which will turn into a Boost Jump if you connect with a monster. After a Boost Jump, press Aボタン for a Jumping Shell Fire.

Upward Thrust Reload
