Charge Blade

A powerful weapon that morphsbetween a sword/shield combo andan axe. Accumulate energy with thenimble sword, and then switchto axe mode to unleash athunderous, energy-filledattack.

Charge Gauge

The Charge Gauge displays the Charge Blade's Elemental state, and when using Elemental Discharge, displays the number of phials that can be used.

1. Element Up

When your phials are charged, you'll deal more damage in Axe Mode, and performing an Elem Up Roundslash will power up your shield, increasing your blocking capabilities while in Sword Mode. There are two types of charge, yellow and red, red being the more powerful of the two.

2. Phial

Attack in Sword Mode to fill your Charge Blade phials. The amount of phials that will fill when you charge your weapon differs depending on whether the phials are glowing yellow or red. The phials will deplete when you switch to Axe Mode and perform an Element Discharge. However, if you continue to attack without charging the phials, a Charge icon will be displayed over your Charge Gauge, indicating that the weapon is overloaded, and all of your attacks will bounce off your target.

Attacks That Consume Phials

When you perform an Element Discharge or Amped Element Discharge with the axe, all of the energy stored in your phials will be consumed and the attack will cause a small explosion where it hits. There are two different types of phials, Element and Impact. They have different effects when using an Element Discharge.
*Each Charge Blade uses a specific type of phial.

Impact Phial

Makes it easier to Stun a monster.

Element Phial

Elemental damage is added to the explosion.
