Undertaking Quests

How to Undertake Quests

The Hunter's Guild only entrusts Quests to hunters who they know can get the job done. There won't be a lot of Quests available to you in the beginning, but as you complete the first bunch of Quests, you will be recognized by the Guild and granted more and more Quests to undertake.

Quests with the word "Advanced" before their names are Quests that the Guild considers especially dangerous. When they appear at the Quest Counter is a matter of luck, so if you spot one, take advantage of the opportunity.

Visit the Quest Counter

You can undertake Quests by talking to the Guildmarm or by visiting the Gathering Hall. The Guildmarm's Quest Counter is for single player Quests only, so if you want to play with other hunters, sign up for Quests at the Gathering Hall.

Once you're all signed up, head to the Departure Gate and press Aボタン to depart on the Quest.

Clear enough Gathering Hall Quests in Val Habar, and you'll be able to visit the Elder Hall in Dundorma. There you can try your hand at extremely challenging G-rank Quests.

Requests from Townspeople

While you're in town, you may come across some townspeople who are in need of a hunter's assistance from time to time. If you see a speech bubble above an NPC's head, speak to them to hear the details of their request. Once you've heard them out, the Quest will be added to the list of Quests at the Guildmarm's Quest Counter. Clear the Quest and the NPC may have another request waiting for you.

Urgent Quests/Quest Level

After clearing a certain number of Quests, very important Quests known as Urgent Quests will become available to you. Clear these Quests to gain more trust from the Guild, and earn the right to take on even more difficult Quests.

Quest difficulty levels are represented by the number of stars for each level. Each successive level is unlocked by clearing the previous level's Urgent Quest.

Viewing Quest Details

Check the Quest details before departing on a Quest to make sure you're aware of your objectives and Quest conditions.

Main Objective

Fulfill the main objective and the Quest is considered a success, and you'll return to town.

Subquest

Clear a Subquest to receive additional rewards. You can return to town without penalty by completing just the Quest's Subquest; however, the overall Quest will not be considered cleared as you did not complete the main objective. Whenever you want to return to town with only the Subquest fulfilled, select End via Subquest from the menu.

Unstable Environment/Outbreaks

If a Quest's environment is considered unstable, there's a chance that a monster not listed in the Quest description may show up. Hunt that monster to get even more rewards. If a Quest has an Outbreak warning, the monster on the Quest may exhibit strange behavior.

Locale

The hunting ground where the Quest will take place. Some locales have extreme conditions that can affect a hunter's health or stamina, so be sure to stock up on necessary items before departing on the Quest.

Time

The amount of time in which a Quest must be completed before it is considered a failure.

Reward

The amount of money the client is offering for the completion of the Quest.

Fee

The amount of money required to undertake the Quest. This money is lost if the Quest is failed, but multiplied if it is completed successfully.
