At the Open-air Kitchen and the Canteens located in the Gathering and Elder Halls, you can pay for your meals with money, Caravan Points or Vouchers. These meals give you temporary stat boosts known as Food Skills.
Open-air Kitchen/Canteen
Kitchen
When ordering a meal, you must choose two ingredients and a method of cooking. The combination of ingredients and cooking method affects the skills you will receive. Ingredients marked as Fresh or Prime can also affect what skills you will get.
Ingredients and Cooking Methods
Ingredient Levels
Ingredient levels are displayed with star (★) marks. When you clear certain quests, you'll be able to select higher level ingredients. Higher level ingredients increase your max Health and provide you with better effects.
Fresh Ingredients
Choosing Fresh ingredients will increase your stamina. They also increase the chance of skills activating.
Vouchers
Use a Voucher to pay for your meal, and all ingredients will be Fresh. Use a Gourmet Voucher and all Food Skills are guaranteed to activate. During multiplayer, using a Voucher or a Gourmet Voucher will affect all players.
Using the Fancy Spit
As you progress through the single player story and meet certain requirements, you can use the Fancy Spit at the Open-air Kitchen to cook meat. This requires Raw Meat and Caravan Points. You can cook up to 10 Raw Meats at one time. The cooking method is the same as using the BBQ Spit during a quest.
The Fancy Spit is only available in the Open-air Kitchen, and cannot be used in the Gathering or Elder Hall.
