Special Hunting Equipment

Whenever you encounter monsters that are larger than normal, you can use special hunting equipment to help you take them down.

Ballistae

A giant, stationary bowgun. It is very powerful and can fire over long distances, but it requires special ammo. One example of such ammo is Ballista Binder ammo, which can temporarily restrain monsters. While it is reusable, it has a cooldown period of a few minutes.

Using Ballistae

Finding and Load Ammo

You can find Ballista ammo in the Supply Box, or at locations like the one shown above. If you find a Ballista, go up to it and press Aボタン to load your ammo and use it.

Aim and Fire!

Use スライドパッド to aim, and press Aボタン to fire. You can press Rボタン
to toggle between aiming styles. You can't evade attacks while manning a Ballista, so if you sense an incoming attack, press Bボタン to unman the Ballista so you can move freely.

Cannon

Bring Cannon Ammo to a Cannon to fire it. Unlike a Ballista, you can't aim it since cannons are fixed to face a certain direction. Before using a Cannon, make sure the monster is right in front of it.

The Dragonator

Mechanical equipment fitted with a large spear for hunting monsters. Despite its short range, it's extremely powerful and can cause considerable damage to even the largest of monsters.

The Dragonator Switch

When you approach the Dragonator Switch, an icon will appear above your hunter's head. Once you have your target in your sights, press Aボタン at just the right time to skewer it. Once you use the Dragonator, it will take a while before you can use it again, so make it count!

The Hunting Gong

A large gong fitted to the deck of a Dragonship. Hitting the switch below the mast will create a thunderous noise that can be used to repel monsters or disrupt their attacks. Once you use the Hunting Gong, there is a cooldown period before you can use it again, so time your strike well.

The Fence Switch

When facing off against multiple monsters in the Arena, you can bring up a fence to separate them by hitting one of the switches on either side of the arena center. After a period of time, the fence will retract into the ground. Once you use the Fence Switch, there is a cooldown period before you can use it again, so use it wisely.
