Images from the Original Street Fighter
As a special treat, this time we've got images from the design document for the original Street Fighter. These were buried deep in our archives, but I managed to dust them off. This is a huge treasure, so please enjoy!
As you can see, this was written by hand.
The theme for the game was "a karate-action fighting game," as you can see by things such as three types of crouching (front crouch, crouch, back crouch), and distinguishing light/heavy attacks using the button sensor. The bonus game of using attack force to blow out the candles would have been pretty cool!
By the way, the original design doc called for two young fighters, Ryu and Yuu. Ken hadn't been thought up yet...
