Even though he may be watching the action from the sidelines in Street Fighter V, today I'd like to share some rare images we have of the Muy Thai emperor, Sagat.
An illustration for the video package of Gamest, that everyone loves.
The illustration that served as the inspiration for the SF Alpha series.
For more info about that, check out the interview with Hideaki Itsuno.
portrait that was used for Street Fighter Alpha
This is from the strategy book for Street Fighter Alpha. He looks good as a former Shadaloo general.
Here's something we've never released before. We were going to have the "Original Street Fighter" team appear in Capcom Fighting Evolution. This is the pixel art we made for that. Since this is the SF1 version, you'll notice the lack of his trademark chest scar. This is a very rare image that comes straight from the development cutting room floor.
Incidentally, now you get to see the pixel art for Retsu as well for the first time.
The big bulky Sagat from the Alpha series is cool, but I also like the slim version. Looks like he's a master of his art.
