This is how the designs were created for the students who appeared in the 2017 April Fools SF Quiz.


Chun-Li's School Costume
An honor-student image while retaining the feel of her home country.

Ryu's School Costume
The concept for Ryu was "leader" - leader of a student group or a bunch of delinquents. The coat lining features a flashy design of a dragon and a tiger opposing each other. One of our staff members, who actually wore clothes like this when he was a student, advised us that by rolling up the sleeves we can show off the dragon's face.

Juri's School Costume
The concept was gothic - a good-for-nothing girl. This costume was extremely popular among the dev team. It inspired us to train more with Juri.

Begin Modeling

Create the April Fools Illustrations
We asked Bengus for a rough sketch of each character's poses. Then we drew those cool poses while confirming with the screenshots of the model.

Complete the Illustrations
We asked Shinkiro for the final versions. He came up with their facial expressions and their small details. He drew 15 pieces for us in total.

Woshige Version
Working off the final versions, we had Professor Woshige try his hand at drawing. The shoulder composition is both mysterious and wonderful.

That's how they came to be. For the North American audience, we tried to pass these off as alternate costumes designed by Woshige for our April Fool's joke.
