Using Items With the Weapon Unsheathed
You can use items even with the Sword & Shield drawn. While your weapon is drawn, press Rボタン+Yボタン to use an item. You can also use special oils with the Sword & Shield to grant the weapon special properties.
Affinity Oil
Apply this oil to greatly increase the Affinity of the weapon.
Destroyer Oil
Apply this oil to make it easier to cause a monster to flinch.
You can use an item immediately after performing a Forward Slash!

Attacking After a Boost Jump
If you perform a Boost Jump onto a monster with your weapon drawn, you'll jump off the monster and attack at the same time. Afterwards you can keep the pressure on by performing a Jumping Slash.
