Notification of the Merger of CAPCOM Account Services

Thank you for your continued use of CAPCOM's web services.

The previously announced CAPCOM ID merger was implemented on Thursday, October 1, 2020. This new service allows users to sign into various web services, such as RESIDENT EVIL.NET with a single ID. Users with CAPCOM Accounts or previous COG IDs can now transfer their accounts to the new CAPCOM ID service. For those without older accounts, you can register a new CAPCOM ID now.

Request for ID Merger Procedures

For customers with existing CAPCOM Accounts and /or CAPCOM IDs (formerly COG IDs)

1. Please create a new CAPCOM ID. Data will transfer into this new account.

2. Transfer the data from your Capcom Account, and/or COG ID.

・Transfer process available after October 1, 2020.

・RESIDENT EVIL.NET points and game-data will be transferred and remain available along with your other CAPCOM Account data.

About the CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID)

The CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID) is an account issued for CAPCOM Online Games (COG).

COG is an online game portal site operated by Capcom for the domestic Japanese market,
providing services focused on online games through the PC platform.

Please be aware, the new CAPCOM ID authentication service which began operation on October 1, 2020, is a separate service from the previous CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID).

After the ID merger, you will be able to continue using the services that you are currently using under the CAPCOM Account and the CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID).

Are there any procedures I have to do in order to use my account once the name changes from COG ID to CAPCOM ID?

There were no procedures required of the customer regarding the service name change on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

Are there any procedures I have to do once the CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID) and the CAPCOM Account are merged into the CAPCOM ID?

When the accounts are merged, you will have to agree to the Terms of Service, as well as the terms for account transfer.
There may be some necessary transfer procedures to be performed depending on the status of your formerly COG ID and CAPCOM Account. As the transfer process will differ depending on the status of each account, we will notify you on the this page as soon as the details have been confirmed.

Why are the CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID) and the CAPCOM Account being merged?

The purpose of the account merger is to improve convenience for our users. Please see the rest of this page for more details.

Is it possible to link multiple "CAPCOM Accounts" and "CAPCOM IDs" (formerly COG ID) to the new CAPCOM ID service?

No, only data from one CAPCOM Account and CAPCOM ID (formerly COG ID) can be transferred to the new CAPCOM ID service. You cannot transfer multiple accounts. Also please note, once you have completed the transfer, you will no longer be able to switch to, or transfer data from the old account.
