VR Play Styles

VR Mode can be played while sitting or standing. You can change the VR Play Style in the VR Settings menu.

Basic mechanics to help you survive enemy attack.

Interacting

An interact button will appear when you approach an object you can examine or pick up.

Grab / Examine Items

If you move your hand to an item that can be examined or picked up, the icon will change and you can grab it with . When grabbed, some objects will be acquired, while others can be examined in more detail. There are also items which can be manipulated once grabbed.

Close Combat Weapons

Move your hand to the sheath and press to grab your knife. While holding the knife, swing it or thrust forward to slash or stab.

Shooting

While holding a gun, aim at your target and press to shoot. Hold a gun with both hands to reduce recoil.

Some guns must be cocked or otherwise readied to shoot again after shooting.

Reloading

The process for reloading varies depending on the weapon. Some examples are outlined below.

LEMI: Eject the magazine by pressing . Grab a new magazine from your ammo pouch and insert it into the gun. Grab the slide at the top of the weapon with and pull it towards you to cock the gun.

M1897: Grab shells from your ammo pouch and load them into the gun. Grab the foregrip with and pull it towards you to pump the gun.

F2 Rifle: Eject the magazine by pressing . Grab a new magazine from your ammo pouch and insert it into the gun. Grab the bolt handle on the right side of the gun with and pull it up and towards you to ready the gun to fire.

Drawing Weapons

Weapons other than the knife are stored in weapon shortcuts located on your body. Move your hand to the appropriate location and use to grab the weapon.

Changing Ammo

Some weapons have multiple types of ammo. For such weapons you can change which type is taken from your ammo pouch by pressing while holding the weapon. To change the ammo loaded in your weapon, you must first empty the weapon with and then load the new ammo. Doing so will not cause you to lose the ammo which was ejected from the weapon.

Using Pipe Bombs

Projectile weapons, such as pipe bombs, are stored inside your jacket. Bring your hand near your chest and grab your jacket with , then use your other hand to grab a projectile weapon with .

Using Mines

Mines are stored inside your jacket. Bring your hand near your chest and grab your jacket with , then use your other hand to grab a mine with . You can then set the mine in place with .

You can retrieve a previously placed mine by pressing or by moving your hand near it and grabbing it with .

Guarding

Guard by raising both hands with your palms facing toward you. Guarding will reduce the damage you take.

Striking

Make a fist by holding or and thrust your hand forward to strike.

Healing

First Aid Med is stored in a fixed shortcut location. Move your hand to that location and grab it with . While holding the First Aid Med, press or to remove the cap, then invert the bottle to pour it on yourself and heal.

Note: You cannot heal from the Inventory screen.

The Flashlight

The flashlight is stored inside your jacket. Bring your hand near your chest and grab your jacket with , then use your other hand to grab the flashlight with . While holding the flashlight, press to turn it on or off. You can also switch to an underhand grip by pressing .

In dark locations, the flashlight will stay on from your pocket after you release it.

Using Key Items

When approaching certain objects a button icon will appear. Examine the object and key items will appear. Move your hand to the key item you would like to use and grab it with . Move the key item into place to use it with the examined object.

Resetting the Viewpoint

Hold to reset your viewpoint. If you feel that the camera in not properly aligned with your position, please reset the viewpoint to return it to normal.
