Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where players would occasionally initiate a Spirit Blade I attack (R2/RT), rather than a Foresight Slash (R2+〇/RT+B), immediately following an Overhead Slash (△→△/Y→Y) when using a Long Sword.
  • Fixed a bug where multiple players attacking with Spread Ammo 3 in their Heavy Bowguns could potentially crash the game while on Zorah Magdaros.
  • Fixed a bug where players could use Flash Pods while mounting a Leshen or Ancient Leshen to artificially extend the period of time they can use mounted attacks. Now Flash Pods used during this time will apply their intended effect, but will not allow additional chances at mounted attacks.
  • This update also includes other minor bug fixes.

Time Zone-specific Bug Fixes (PS4 Only)

Active Limited Bounties in these regions will have their start/finish times adjusted once the update goes live.

Furthermore, players affected by Update 6.02/6.0.0.2 (in these time zones) will receive a short message on the title screen the first time they launch the game post-release.

The event quest will now be available until Thursday, March 7 UTC.

Bug Fixes

  • During the last phase of the Ancient Leshen fight in the quest Contract: Woodland Spirit, balance tweaks have been made to the fight, such as decreasing the Ancient Leshen's warp frequency and increasing the effectiveness of Igni Sign, slinger shots, etc., to make it easier to weaken the monster.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused the Leshen and Ancient Leshen to go into its Igni damage reaction instead of its weakened state damage reaction when both damage reactions would trigger at the same time due to being attacked by Igni.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused parts of a player's custom shoutouts to appear as asterisks (*) on other players' screens after the Ver. 6.00 update (Ver. 6.0.0.0 on Xbox One).

Major Additions and Changes

  • The Arch-tempered Kulve Taroth siege is now available, and with it, some parts of the Kulve Taroth siege have been revamped.

    1. New rainbow frame appraisal weapons are now available as part of the Arch-tempered Kulve Taroth rewards. To go along with this, the odds of acquiring gold, silver, and bronze frame weapons have been reworked. With the introduction of the new Incandescent Weapon, the appraisal results of Dissolved, Melded, and Sublimated Weapons have been reworked.

    2. The Kulve Taroth siege, "Banquet in the Earthen Hall" has been replaced with a new quest called "The Fury of El Dorado," and the siege objectives have been reworked. For example, a new objective called "Single run siege complete" gives players two rainbow frame appraisal items upon completion. This objective can be completed by joining a siege from pursuit level 1 and breaking Kulve Taroth's horns without abandoning or returning from the quest. Other objectives and their points have been reworked, so please check them before you begin the siege.

    3. With the introduction of "The Fury of El Dorado", the siege "Banquet in the Earthen Hall" will no longer be available. However, the weapons from that siege will be available in the new one.

Player-related Bug Fixes

Gunlance

  • Fixed a bug where a player would perform a backstep with the player facing to their left if the player performed a neutral evade (backstep) within 0.3 seconds of performing a guard with the analog stick.
  • An unintentional bug has been fixed where the Gunlance's Wyrmstake Cannon would continuously hit a monster if it connected as they begin digging underground until it coming up from beneath the ground. It has been fixed so wyrmstake cannon will end once the digging underground animation is over.

  • Fixed a bug where the player would be displayed in high resolution textures when restarting the game from base, but player and NPC textures would appear in low resolution once you've departed on a quest or expedition.

Hunting Horn

  • PS4:
Fixed a bug where a music note would not stock if the player tried a jumping draw attack off a ledge with the △ button with slinger ammo loaded.
  • Xbox:
Fixed a bug where a music note would not stock if the player tried a jumping draw attack off a ledge with the Y button with slinger ammo loaded.
  • Fixed a UI bug where, if the player performed attacks in a specific order with the Empress Roar "Blaze" hunting horn, the "All Melody Effects Extended" message would appear even if the effects weren't extended.

Charge Blade

Lance

  • PS4:
Fixed a bug where pressing R2+○ after a finishing twin thrust from a sliding charge would result in a high thrust. This has been fixed so that it matches the attack flow of a regular charge into a finishing twin thrust, so that a counter thrust now comes out instead.
  • Xbox:
Fixed a bug where pressing RT+B after a finishing twin thrust from a sliding charge would result in a high thrust. This has been fixed so that it matches the attack flow of a regular charge into a finishing twin thrust, so that a counter thrust now comes out instead.
  • Fixed a bug where, after performing a mid thrust upon landing from an advancing jump thrust, the button guide would display Mid Thrust I instead of the proper name Mid Thrust II.
  • PS4:
Fixed a bug where the game would perform a guard dash forward regardless of the direction the left stick is being pressed, if R2 and the △ button were pressed at the same time. This has been fixed so that even if the button inputs are slightly off, the guard dash will be performed in the direction the left stick is being pressed.
  • Xbox:
Fixed a bug where the game would perform a guard dash forward regardless of the direction the left stick is being pressed, if RT and the Y button were pressed at the same time. This has been fixed so that even if the button inputs are slightly off, the guard dash will be performed in the direction the left stick is being pressed.

Light Bowgun/Heavy Bowgun

  • Fixed a bug for both bowgun types where draw attack skills would not activate if you perform a jumping reload draw attack when your ammo is not full.

Skills

  • Fixed a bug where the third level of the focus skill erroneously stated that charge times would be reduced by 20% when in reality the charge times are reduced by 15%.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused network lag to occur during multiplayer on the Xbox One.
  • A bug existed in the Behemoth-related quests, where due to differences in terrain height, hiding behind a comet when Behemoth summons Ecliptic Meteor would not work. A counter-measure has been applied so that hiding behind a meteor will result in the player being recognized as close to the same height level. (This is not 100% guaranteed to work.)
  • Fixed a bug where, during any Zorah Magdaros quest where Zorah goes from standing on its hind legs to standing on all four legs, any attack such as falling boulders that cause Zorah to flinch would revert him to his hind leg position for a moment.
  • Fixed a bug where players would immediately be spotted by a monster during special arena quests if players left at the same time while network or console differences existed between the players.
  • Fixed a bug where, if the Ghillie Mantle is selected in the item window when running out of any other item, the item window cursor would move one spot to the left without player input.

PS4: Update 5.11 / Xbox One: Update 5.1.0.1

Release Date

PlayStation®4: October 16, 2018 (UTC)

Xbox One: October 16, 2018 (UTC)

Required Space

PlayStation®4:Approximately 95 MB (Individual Update Size)

The first update after purchasing Monster Hunter: World requires approximately 4.0 GB of free space.

Xbox One:Approximately 80 MB (Individual Update Size)

The first update after purchasing Monster Hunter: World requires approximately 6.8 GB of free space.

General Bug Fixes

  • A bug has been fixed where the reward item "Lunastra Ticket", from the event quest "When Blue Dust Surpasses Red Lust", would be placed in your item pouch or item box as a consumable item and could not be used as a material. This occurred even after the item had been converted from an "Unavailable" item, after you had updated to version 5.10 after having experienced the bug in which you obtained the "Unavailable" item instead of the "Lunastra Ticket" (which occurred from completing the quest "When Blue Dust Surpasses Red Lust" without updating to version 5.10).
Updating to version 5.11 will take any Lunastra Tickets from the consumables in your item pouch or item box and replace them into your material item box.
Additionally, please note that though the delivery request "Blooming Sakura" is designed to unlock by speaking to the Smithy after you've obtained a Lunastra Ticket, the request will not unlock if the Lunastra Ticket you possess is converted from an "Unavailable" item after having updated to version 5.10 or higher.
If the request does not unlock after speaking to the Smithy, please update to version 5.11 and reobtain Lunastra Tickets by completing the event quest "When Blue Dust Surpasses Red Lust" again. Then speak to the Smithy to unlock the request.
  • Kushala Daora's wind armor normally repels arrows and bowgun shots, but arch-tempered Kushala Daora's wind armor unintentionally did not repel these attacks. This issue has been fixed so that tempered and arch-tempered Kushala Daora will now repel those attacks when its wind armor is active.
  • A bug has been fixed that caused Xeno'jiiva's tail to gain resistance when switching to multiplayer mode via SOS, causing it to become harder to sever.
  • This update also includes other minor bug fixes.

PS4: Update 5.10 / Xbox One: Update 5.1.0.0

Release Date

PlayStation®4: October 4, 2018 (UTC)

Xbox One: October 4, 2018 (UTC)

Required Space

PlayStation®4:Approximately 310 MB (Individual Update Size)

The first update after purchasing Monster Hunter: World requires approximately 3.8 GB of free space.

Xbox One:Approximately 330 MB (Individual Update Size)

The first update after purchasing Monster Hunter: World requires approximately 6.8 GB of free space.

Major Additions and Changes

  • After re-evaluating the quest completion rewards for quests with Tempered Deviljho and Arch-tempered elder dragons, we increased the drop rate for "Warped Feystone".

    Relevant Quests:

    - Relish the Moment (Tempered Deviljho): Fucium Ore → Warped Feystone

    - The Deathly Quiet Curtain (Arch-tempered Vaal Hazak): Dreamcore Ore → Warped Feystone

    - A Whisper of White Mane (Arch-tempered Kirin): Dreamcore Ore → Warped Feystone

    - The Scorn of the Sun (Arch-tempered Teostra): Dreamcore Ore → Warped Feystone

    - The Eye of the Storm (Arch-tempered Kushala Daora): Dreamcore Ore → Warped Feystone

These reward rules will also be applied to any future quests with Arch-tempered elder dragons from update version 5.10 onwards.

  • Fixed an exploit that would allow you to retain a pursuit level in the Kulve Taroth Siege by intentionally disconnecting, by making it so you cannot post or join another quest for the same Kulve Taroth after claiming rewards once.
If you cannot post or join a Kulve Taroth quest, you must either wait until the other players in the session have repelled the Kulve Taroth, or move to a different session. Then you will be able to post or join quests for a new Kulve Taroth.
  • The order of melding ingredients at the Elder Melder has been resorted according to the same sorting method used for items. In previous updates, new items were added to the end of the ingredient list, but now new additions will now follow this new sorting method. No items have been removed from the current ingredient list.

Combat Bug Fixes

Charge Blade

Fixed a bug where, if your Charge action is interrupted by damage when chaining it into a Condensed Element Slash in order to power up your Sword Mode attacks, the next attack will no longer mistakenly benefit from additional hits from phial effects.

Dual Blades

Fixed a bug where graphic and sound effects were not triggering correctly when exiting Demon Mode after any of the various combos.

Bow

Fixed a bug where Dragon Piercer would fire outside the intended range when pressing the L2 button (PS4) or the left trigger (Xbox One) just as you release an arrow when the camera is facing outside the intended aim range. We apologize for the continuous bugs related to this.

Skills

Fixed a bug where the effects from "Critical Draw" and "Punishing Draw" would expire before you could do damage with your weapon, due to unrelated, continuous damage sources such as torch pods. The effects from these skills will now only expire once you have made a direct weapon attack (including arrows).

General Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where, if you own the Kinsect "True Dragon Soul", the Smithy equipment forging screen would display an icon showing that you owned "Kulve Taroth's Fury α" when you do not actually own it.
  • Fixed a bug where, when sorting equipment at the item box, sorting weapons by the "Great Sword" category would also sort Sever-type Kinsects to the top of the list, and sorting weapons by the "Sword & Shield" category would also sort Blunt-type Kinsects to the top of the list.
  • Fixed a bug where squad information may be deleted due to delays in server requests, as a result of switching between save data too many times in a row, or repeating the process of frequently refreshing guild cards before immediately signing out. Please note that we cannot recover squad information that was lost prior to this update.
  • Fixed an issue for players who were unable to unlock the 8★ quest "Lightning Strikes Twice". This issue occurred very rarely in high rank quests and expeditions, preventing research points from accumulating when you collect high rank Kirin traces. Updating to version 5.10 will allow the quest to unlock, but you must re-gather the necessary research points.
  • Xbox One Only:
Improved the processing of the retrieval of session information to reduce the incidence of the error code "50088-MW1", which would prevent you from joining online sessions.
  • Fixed a bug where the notification beginning "Continuing the game in offline mode. To connect..." would not display when a communication error (due to signing out from PSN or Xbox Live, or from being disconnected) occurs when creating or joining a new online session while already in a session.
  • Fixed a bug in the Wildspire Waste where you could lock your focus camera to an empty spot, by locking onto the spot where Cactuar would appear before they actually appear.
  • Fixed a bug where your Palico would fail to restore you after running over to hit you to recover from paralysis or sleep (as a result of using the "signal" command as it runs over, causing an error in its movement destination).
  • Fixed a bug where the effects of Demondrug, Mega Demondrug, Armorskin, and Mega Armorskin that were applied to a Palico via the skill "Wide-Range" would expire for the Palico when they fainted in combat, but the expiration of these effects would not be properly synced between the players during multiplayer.
  • Fixed a bug where a monster hit with the Dragonator by a guest player in a Special Arena quest would not properly flinch from the attack, if the host player is far from the monster and accessing the supply box or otherwise waiting in camp.
  • Fixed bugs that occur when (a) you are targeting a large monster with the target camera and its icon on the lower left part of the screen is grayed out, (b) the icon of the monster you are targeting is the furthest icon on the left, and (c) either of the following occur.

    1. When using the focus camera, the target would switch away from the large monster when a small monster's icon was added to the leftmost end of the target list.

    2. When using the target camera, the target would switch away from the large monster when a small monster disappears from the target list.

  • Fixed a bug where the health gauge wouldn't properly change color after being inflicted with the poison or bleeding status after finishing a monster mount.
  • Fixed a bug where the order of items in the item bar would change unintentionally when you change your equipment loadout and your items are lined up in certain ways.
  • Fixed a bug where the order of items in the item bar would change unintentionally when you register an item loadout when you have supply items. When saving an item loadout, the order of items registered will ignore supply item data, and supply items obtained again afterwards may be in a different order, but this is not a bug.
  • Fixed a bug where female characters' hair would not move properly after equipping the head armor "Shadow Shades" or the layered head armor for 'Bushi Kabuto "Sabi"' and 'Bushi Kabuto "Homare"'.
  • This update also includes other minor bug fixes.

Players who have encountered this bug already can return to Astera and speak with the Admiral, triggering the council scene, after which the Kulve Taroth Siege will become available.
  • Fixed a bug where the great sword Wyvern Ignition "Impact" saw its fire elemental attack value unintentionally reduced to 240. The value has been reset to 510.
  • Fixed some bugs in the data collection for the statistical summaries given to you by speaking to the First Wyverian (weapon usage, number of monsters slain, etc.). Data will be progressively reset starting on April 26. For the duration, the First Wyverian will not give out any statistical information, but this should not affect gameplay in any other way. Please note that the statistical data may be low in accuracy for a short time after the process has finished.

Apologies

With this update, we have fixed a bug related to the bow used in the Monster Hunter Championship 2018, as well as a change to the functionality of the item pouch. To the players who are planning on participating in the Monster Hunter Championship 2018, we deeply apologize for changing the design of the gameplay before the tournament begins.

Release Date

Wednesday, April 4th 00:00 (UTC)

Major Changes

  • In Update Ver. 2.00, a balance update was done to the bow’s Dragon Piercer attack to fix a bug where you could shoot past the attack's angle limitations. However due to this update, when the target is lined up with the reticle at a very fast speed and the Dragon Piercer fires, it was discovered that the player may not be able to face in the direction of the reticle. This has been fixed so that even if the player is aiming at a target quickly in a direction they are not facing, the reticle will still be able to aim in that direction.
Please note that during Dragon Piercer, if the reticle is aimed at an area outside of the allowed range, the attack will fire in the direction the player is facing.
  • When selecting loadouts during Arena Quests, a bug occurred where the item window order would change. However, this has now been retooled as part of the game design.

    Details:
1.From the default cursor position, the item pouch order when checking equipment info will be from left to right.
2.Next, the fixed items will appear in the following order, left to right: Whetstone, Capture Net, Fishing Rod, and BBQ Spit.
3.The last items will be the specialized tools, listed from left to right.

  • Other minor bugs were fixed
